Awards and stuff

Well look at me – I’ve been getting all awarded again – how cool am I?

So first of all Khush has awarded me the volatile – no, infertile – no, ‘versatile’ blogger (maybe there should be a volatile blogger award – not so sure about the infertile one). Thank you very much; it is proper nice of you Khush, your work over at my endless thinking process is well worth a check out.

Also the somewhat lovable Kathy over at The Giggling Trucker’sWife has done gone and awarded me the Leibster Blog Award for an outstanding blog, which is a nice. If anyone doesn’t know who Kathy is then you should go take a look, because she is nicely batty. In fact I think if you go on to the Oxford English’s online Thesaurus you’ll find that I am very accurate on that definition – here’s a direct quote…

Anyway…

I firmly believe in living on the edge and laughing in the face of rules, so the chances of me doing the full list of regulations around award receiving are somewhat remote, sorry but this is the way of things.

I’ve already given away the Versatile Blogger award so I will hold on that one this time. Having put some thought into it, I’ve decided to be a little bit tight on the Leibster award too.

I think I’m supposed to pass it on to like five people or something – really? Does anyone really have time for that? No, me neither. So I will swim against the tide and simply nominate one outstanding person.

One person who I think really deserves it.

So it’s over to you Clipped Wings at Perfection…More or Less. You are a proper lady and a very intelligent writer / photographer. Anyone who hasn’t seen her should do. She has some real talent for photography and in her writing, but I will say this Yvonne. "Please, please, please….  Put some spaces in between paragraphs." Where you excel in the beauty of your picture presentation, you then hide the beauty of your words inside a huge block that frightens people away. I know, because I have done it, that braving the mass words is worthwhile, but I wonder how many people are too scared to try. I do suggest that readers do try not to be put off though - we Internet readers are very lazy (we are all the same) and what works in a book just won't do on a screen. However the words on your site are worth the effort - they really are.

Have some confidence in your words and show them off as much as you do the pictures.

Is it okay to critique at the same time as saying someone is outstanding? Does giving someone an award entitle you to an opinion? I told you I swim against the tides!
